Hand-Stitched Boots

Tegep Boots is handmade leather boots with limited quality. Made in Bandung, West Java Indonesia. Established in 1997, produced fine handmade leather boots which originally Design and Patterned by The Owner and Designer Mr. H. Tegep Oktaviansyah S.Sn. Tegep Boots uses time-honored craftsmanship techniques to build handmade boots of unrivaled quality, fit, comfort and style. In virtually every step of our bootmaking process, we rely on human hands to complete centuries-old tasks to perfection. 

Our craftman are carefully hand-hammered into holes cut in the leather and are more malleable than metal, as they expand and contract with moisture at almost an identical rate as leather. This old world bootmaking method is more effective than using a material like brass nails, which would be forced out of the outsole as it swells when exposed to water.

Additionally, we complete the structure of the boot by holding the insole and outsole together, maintaining the integrity of the hand-lasted instep’s fit.

Tegep Boots artisans expertly guide the needle through the leather by hand, creating the beautiful stitch patterns — from vibrant to classic — that serve as just one mark of the extreme craftsmanship Tegep Boots are known for. 

The demand for the handcrafted, custom-made by Tegep Boots skyrocketed in a short period of time as cowboys and bikers boots. To this day, more than 20 years later, the legacy created by the humble cobbler, a hard working entrepreneur with a fierce pride in his craft, lives on. A more elaborate personalization is offered by our bespoke experience, in which a client will be able to adjust each part of the shoes and have their feet measured by the master shoemaker.

SEJARAH TEGEP BOOTS

TEGEP BOOTS adalah nama salah satu home industri yang menghasilkan berbagai macam produk sepatu kulit dan assesories kulit. Spesialisasinya adalah sepatu boots yang mana produknya merupakan handycraft karena dalam pengerjaannya tidak menggunakan mesin-mesin besar dan manual. Sebelum menggunakan nama Tegep Boots produknya memakai merk Clubman. 

 

Clubman berdiri pada tahun 1997 oleh H.Tegep Oktaviansyah, S.Sn. yang mempunyai hobi di dunia automotif sehingga mempunyai hobi mengkoleksi asesories bikers, salah satunya sepatu boots. Dimana pada saat itu untuk mendapatkan produk boots yang bagus hanya bisa didapat dengan membeli produk import yang harganya mahal dan susah untuk didapat. Atas dasar peluang inilah beliau mulai tertarik untuk menjalankan bisnis ini.

 

Pada awal usahanya beliau masih dalam proses pendidikannya di Program Studi Desain Produk ITB. Pada saat itu bersama sejumlah rekan yang memiliki kesamaan hobi, beliau merintis usaha ini dengan bekerja sama dengan salah satu home industri yang bernama Kanselir. 

 

Untuk pengembangan desain Bp. Tegep langsung menjadi desainer bagi produk-produknya. Produk –produk yang dihasilkan dijual di Jl. Cihampelas Bandung. Usaha yang dihasilkan lumayan menguntungkan sampai akhirnya terjadi krisis ekonomi.

 

Pada saat terjadi krisis ekonomi tahun 1998 terjadi masalah dimana kedua pihak yang bekerjasama mempunyai beda prinsip akhirnya pada tahun 1998 secara resmi Kanselir terpisah dari manajemen Clubman. Dan Clubman berganti nama menjadi Tegep Boots. Setelah kerja sama yang gagal dengan Kanselir akhirnya Bp. Tegep mendirikan Work Shop sendiri di Jl. Mutumanikam Dalam No. 7 Bandung dan Show Room di Jl. Cihampelas.

 

Dengan struktur organisasi yang kompak dan sederhana Tegep Boots berhasil menciptakan peluang yang sangat besar terutama di kota-kota besar di Indonesia dimana Clubman menjadi satu-satunya home industry yang dapat mengeluarkan produk sepatu boots sekelas dengan produk luar negeri dan mampu menciptakan segmen pasarnya sendiri sehingga perusahaan ini mampu mencapai tujuan dan konsep pemasarannya. Akhirnya pada tahun 2000 Tegep Boots pindah alamat ke jl. Pelajar Pejuang 45 no.104.

 

Pada tahun 2002 Tegep Boots mulai dikenal oleh Dinas Perindustrian dan Kementrian Koperasi sehingga dalam perjalanannya selalu dilibatkan dalam pameran-pameran dalam dan luar negeri. Juga sebagai Designer Tegep Boots Bp. Tegep ditunjuk secara langsung untuk memberikan pelatihan bagi para pengrajin di sentra sepatu Cibaduyut untuk meningkatkan kualitas sepatu dan citra sepatu Cibaduyut. 

 

Tahun 2007 Tegep Boots mulai dengan konsep baru dengan adanya Divisi Rancang dan Desain sebagai salah satu sarana untuk mengembangkan manajemen dan pengelolaan Tegep Boots. Dengan harapan bisa meraih prestasi yang lebih baik lagi. Bp.Tegep juga sering terlibat dengan program program pemberdayaan masyarakat seperti menjadi Instruktur bagi International Labour Organization ( ILO ) IPEC dalam program Creativity And Sustainable Footwear Design Skills Training for Children ( 2002-2004 ). Menjadi pembicara pada seminar Nasional Perlindungan Desain Industri ( Ditjen HAKI-JICA 2003 ). Menjadi narasumber pada penyusunan Standar Kompetisi Nasional bidang Kriya Kulit ( LPPM – ITB 2003 ). Menjadi dewan juri pada Lomba Design Produk Kulit Tingkat Nasional ( KEMENKOP dan UKM 2006-2007 ).

 

Selain di dalam negeri Tegep Boots juga beberapa kali mengikuti International Scale Exhibition dan International Fashion Show seperti Hongkong Fashion Week minimum 2 (dua) kali setiap tahunnya.  Bp. Tegep bercita –cita ingin mendirikan Pusat Desain Sepatu di Indonesia sebagai tempat pengkajian, pengembangan dan pemberdayaan baik dari segi ekonomi maupun desain dan juga sebagai simpul pertemuan dari semua pemegang kepentingan. Beliau juga salah satu pendiri dari APAI (Asosiasi Pengusaha Alas Kaki Indonesia) sebagai salah satu wadah UKM dari sentra persepatuandan untuk mewujudkan cita cita beliau untuk mendirikan Pusat Desain Sepatu di Indonesia.

You will have the luxury of having your feet manually measured by our experience assistant with our standard measurement regulation.

CREATE AND CONSTRUCT

Should you be opting for the bespoke service, you will have the luxury of having your feet manually measured and based on analysis of the feet, your personal shoe assistant will ask careful, detailed questions to better understand your requirements and wishes to make suitable recommendations to the choice of leather, style and accesories.

FINISH
